2009 AFSA Annual Meeting
October 24-27, 2009

Maintaining a strong voice in Washington is more important today than ever, with the financial services industry under intense scrutiny from the Obama administration and Congress. By attending AFSA’s 2009 Annual Meeting, you will hear the latest on key issues and have the opportunity to participate in Capitol Hill meetings that AFSA is organizing in conjunction with the conference. The meeting’s location in D.C. means the association will be inviting elected officials and other policymakers to be part of the conference program.

In addition, educational sessions will focus on challenges and operational issues relevant to specific market niches. The AFSA Board of Directors and many of the association's Committees of Professional Interest and Advisory Boards will convene in conjunction with the conference. AFSA will present the 2009 Distinguished Services Award and Lifetime Achievement Award.

Special registration discounts to attend the entire conference are provided to members of AFSA Boards and Committees of Professional Interest – a valuable benefit of membership in the association.

Who Should Attend?

CEOs; senior management from the financial services industry; members of AFSA’s committees of professional interest and advisory boards; federal and state government affairs executives; attorneys; and industry suppliers. Expected attendance: 400

AFSA Keynote Speaker

Charles Krauthammer
Syndicated Columnist

Attend the keynote session with one of the most prominent syndicated columnists and influential commentators Charles Krauthammer. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and named by The Financial Times as the most influential commentator in America, Charles Krauthammer challenges conventional wisdom with practically every word he writes. He has been honored from every part of the political spectrum for his bold, lucid and original writing - from the famously liberal People for the American Way (which presented him their First Amendment Award) to the staunchly conservative Bradley Foundation.

Krauthammer writes a syndicated column for The Washington Post for which he won the 1987 Pulitzer Prize for distinguished commentary. It is published weekly in over 190 newspapers worldwide. He also writes a monthly essay for TIME magazine, is a contributing editor to The Weekly Standard and The New Republic, and is a weekly panelist on Inside Washington and a contributor to FOX News.
